Mokume Gane
(pronounced Moe-koo-may Gah-nay) is an ancient Japanese metalworking technique developed in feudal Japan by master sword smiths. The technique was originally created to make parts of the handle for the samurai's sword.  The name Mokume Gane translates from Japanese as "wood grain metal," referring to one of the most popular patterns created with this technique.

Abracadabra is proud to represent the finest and most innovative Mokume artists on the market: James Binnion, Michael Daniels, Chris Ploof, and Lisa Jane Grant.  Feel free to click on the images above to see more of their work, and their web sites.  Anything you see on their sites can be purchased exclusively through Abracadabra, at a discount, as well as our own mokume designs created here in the store.
